  1. Chesapeake Bank Boost Incentive Program Event

    November 12, 2022, 9:00 AM - November 13, 2022

Chesapeake looks to Boost local businesses with incentive program

Chesapeake Bank is partnering with the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center, Mathews County Economic Development Authority, Gloucester Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Preservation Trust, the Gloucester Main Street Association and Xtra99FM to sprinkle some fun throughout Mathews and Gloucester during November and December.

As if there wasn’t already enough incentive, the Boost program gives consumers another reason to shop local. The bank and its partners have joined with the local business community to offer $27,400 in shopping dollars which will be converted into $50 gift cards that will sell for $25 each at various pop-up events in the community.

Pop-up events to sell the gift cards will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at M&M Building Supply in Mathews; 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at the Gloucester Brewing Company; 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, at Scoot’s BBQ in Hayes.

The cards can be redeemed at any of a number of local merchants. There is a two-card limit per purchase. The cards will be available as long as supplies last. For a complete list of participating businesses, see

“We are so excited to bring the Boost Local Business program to the Middle Peninsula,” said Melissa Crawford, Middle Peninsula regional executive of Chesapeake Bank. “This is just one of the programs that Chesapeake has created and sponsored that shows how we go beyond banking to help make the community better for everyone.”
